Reliable Fish & Chip in Toronto

I like this place a lot. there is a great spirit. The meals are superb. the service is efficient and the team is courteous. The price is honest. I highly recommend.

Batter that is light and good quality halibut. I find other fish and chips places much more greasy and heavy. I have been going here for years.

The absolute worst fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was tasteless and it was sitting in a puddle of oil on my plate. It didn't even come with tartar sauce on the side. We had to ask for it. The plate itself was $19 after tax, which is far too overpriced for the below average food we got. I will never eat here again. It was gross. The lady working at the counter, however, was very sweet. The service is very friendly. It's just the food that missed the mark.

I came here for a burger (I know, I know this is a fish & chips place!) and I was not disappointed. Everything was fresh and price was right. I dined in and really enjoyed listening to the cashier's interactions with other clients. She was warm, friendly and considerate. Would definitely recommend!

Family run. Jerk Chicken wrap is my fave. Good selection of sustainable fish including halibut.

Thought I would support my neighborhood fish and chip shop. Very disappointed. The fish was ok but very small. There were very few chips and the condition was terrible. I think the cleaned out the fryer and called it my order. Will never go back.

Best in Toronto. My only complaint is that they don't have fried mushrooms... But that is irrelevant.

Went for a light dinner with my Mom.We had the fish tacos...soooo yummy😋.We had 2 each, but I could've easily had just 1 & been satisfied.They are large ! (1) taco is the size of 2 tacos, from most other places.I would highly recommend for a casual dinner or lunch.

Fresh fish with crispy batter. It's interesting that they put vinegar in spray bottles.

I ordered takeout last night and it was delicious! COVID update: They have a pretty good process set up right now: you call in your order and pay over the phone with your credit card, then show up and they hand you your food when it's ready (you can call when you show up). I ordered when I got there and my food was ready 7 minutes later - totally painless.

My review's a strange one as I did not have the fish and chips. I had the Jerk Chicken Burrito though and I was amazed. It was surprisingly well presented, served in reasonable time and was absolutely delicious! Such a quality item, was well worth the $9 tag. The historic element of the place is neat as well. Not huge on fish & chips but might have to come back to give it a try.

Great fish and chips at a great price!

First time here. Got the 1 piece haddock and fries. Fish was fresh and made to order, lightly battered chips were home made. Staff was pretty friendly. Note, as it's made to order can take several minutes to prepare so sometimes there can be a wait. Will definitely return to try something for else on the menu next time I am in the area and hungry. Do recommend to anyone nearby and also hungry and looking forfor a good fish and chips place!

One of the best cod fish & chips I've ever had. Great location as well. Super friendly staff, the price is basically the same as any other place you go too for fish & chips, they just have better quality fish. So fresh

My review is based on my experiences there in and around the year 2000. I'm now close enough to be a customer again and from current reviews it sounds like it is the same. Best pub style F&C this side of the GMT, hands down. I can't wait to see if the old tradition of 'Sample...! While you wait for you order Is still how they do it .

Decent food and portions, VERY OVER PRICED for what it is.....and service is not the greatest. With their expensive price tags , you would expect the tartar Sauce to be at the table with the food but no ….you gotta ask! There were 3 of us and we asked if we can get some lemon & tartar….the lady literally brought 1 tiny micro container of sauce and 1 little piece of lemon.... really??? This is after giving her 18$ as a tip( you have to pay 1st) No thank u

Fantastic food! Authentic fish & chips, great experimental meals, and fish tacos to end all debates about where to grab a bite. Pricing is reasonable for the awesome food you get. Reliable is just that- consistently great, a must try Leslieville spot.

Good fish and chips but not outstanding. very friendly and kind staff. nice window seat to eat at. Food was fresh and hot but I am still on the hunt for better fish and chips in the city, one that is more like a typical British chippy shop.

Their halibut fish & chips was actually good plus the creamy coleslaw. It was perfectly crispy battered! They also have different variations of beverages which I enjoyed. Reasonably priced menu as well. 😋
